I think CA missed the boat re implementing an old world campaign into the combined WH1 and 2/ME mash up tbh. I get that the Vortex campaign showcased the new world factions and had to be the WH2 base game until ME was released but going back to WH1 and it's lack of updated mechanics isn't an option either, whether played for old world flavour or better performance without those turn end times and overpowering number of factions. That's a lot of wasted time and performance in many folks experience. The likelihood of a new or old world faction having much to do with or even dominating the opposite in ME isn't always (if ever, in the case of some factions) high. Improvments: Agents are now always considered "deployed".so no more senseless extra button clicking So with WH1 + WH2 you get Vortex.and Mortal Empires. Sadly so as it would help with the turn timer and I never really visit Lustria or the stinking elves as an Old World faction (well maybe as Brettonia/Norsca).
